my apartment complex

today i was realizing how large my apartment complex actually is. i've confirmed that there are at least 55 buildings. i'm pretty sure that is the exact number. each building is at least 6 stories high, and many of the buildings are 11 stories. there are two apartments on each floor. assuming that only 2 people live in each apartment...and even pretending that all the buildings only have 6 floors, that means that 1320 people live in my apartment complex! if all the buildings were 11 floors, and still assuming only 2 people live in each apartment (which i highly doubt), then 2420 people would live in my apartment complex. i was trying to think of something to compare this to, and the first thing that came to mind was westmont. for sure all the westmont students could live in this apartment complex and all have their own room. there would be plenty of extra space even after that though, so i would venture to say that all westmont students, faculty, and staff could live in this apartment complex.

i may have posted this picture before, but every building you can see in this picture is part of my apartment complex:

grass grows in the parking spots, which i like. =)

on another note, i had success at the post office today! i think... well, i at least know for sure where the post office is now. i can walk there from my house, although it's a further walk. everything i was wearing was wet when i got home because it was really hot and humid today. i'm very thankful for air conditioning in my apartment! (wait till we see the electricity bill though...hmm)

oh, so my post office excursion was successful in the sense that i can now walk to the post office by myself. i can even pay for letters to be mailed. the true success will happen when people actually receive them! if you receive a letter from me sometime, please let me know! i've yet to hear if any of the letters i've mailed have reached their destinations yet. i mailed some others about two weeks ago too.
