kitchen appliances

i was just thinking, who wants to read a post about kitchen appliances? but here kitchen appliances are interesting! at least, to me there are. maybe not quite as interesting as the trash cans though.

this is our oven:
not that interesting, except maybe that it's small.

this is our stove:
there are only two burners, but we only have those two pans, so it's all good. i don't think i've hardly ever cooked where i needed more than two burners anyway.

some of you have seen our washer before (btw, this counts as a kitchen appliance because it is in our kitchen):
it's small, but it's free!! (i had to pay for laundry for the past 7 years.) the cycles all take at least an hour, some almost two hours, but like i said, it's free!!

we're glad it's in english too! our friends have one that is all in chinese. they basically just push the start button. i don't think they have as many cycles anyway though (will we even use them all??). and we thought ours sounded like an airplane taking off (theirs is definitely quite a bit louder than ours)! so i like our washer. i also like this sticker on our washer:

this is our rice cooker:
isn't it pretty? the one i had in the US was boring. this one is also bigger and has a rack thing inside that you can use for steaming things. i don't know how to use it, so i'll just have to try stuff sometime, since the directions are in chinese, unless someone knows how to do that? i'm thinking steaming dumplings inside there could be a good idea...
oh, and of course it says interesting things on it:
in case you can't read it, it says, "the flower duet plays a gentle melody."

and then there's our toaster, which i think is my favorite:
it has orange buttons! it also works really well.

now why can't they make interesting appliances in the US? maybe over here they appreciate the little things more. at least i do. i was never excited about my toaster before!
