exercise playground

this is in front of my apartment building:
i don't know what to call it except an exercise playground because of what happens to be in it. it intrigued me all the time when i first got here, and now it's starting to become more normal, so i thought i'd better write about it while it's still interesting and hasn't yet become something i just walk past everyday. =) i think part of what makes it interesting is that in the evening and at night there are almost always people there! they just hang out there. little boys will play there, moms with their babies and older women and dads hang out there.... it seems like the place to be in the evening.

anyway, when i look at this, i think exercise:
but then i think playground because they are all purple and green and it looks like a playground! i think it's great. i haven't seen anyone using this one though.

i've seen both kids and adults sitting on this see-saw looking thing. the kids play on it and the adults sit on it and talk.
these are for tall people, and i haven't seen people using them either:
there are smaller ones too though, that i saw kids playing on, but i forgot to take a picture of those. maybe you can find them in the first picture--they're on the left.

the most intriguing part is definitely this though:
this is definitely the most popular piece of equipment. i've seen ladies standing on them and talking, ladies using them very earnestly like exercising, little girls swing on them, little boys standing on them and eating ice cream...they have many uses. this is me and A trying it out:
