for the first time i heard that letters i sent got to the US from china! yay! i guess that means they all probably got there, i just haven't heard about them yet. fyi, it takes about 8 days and to mail a letter from the US to china costs $0.98. it costs me about a dollar to send a letter from here to there too. also i received mail here from 3 different people, so it works both ways too. =)
also, who is "ph" who wrote a comment? i won't be posting comments from people that i don't know who they are...so please at least write your first name or use an online name that i know so that i can figure it out. i like comments, i just want to know who they're from. =) and if you do read, please comment sometimes! it's also nice to know who's reading.
hoping for a settlers night this weekend! i think there are 5 people including me who want to play. yay!
oh, i also got to play ping pong the other day. it seems that in china they play up to 11 points and each person serves for two points each (instead of five points). you do have to win by 2 points. but if the two people are tied before this happens at any time, then from then on you switch serving once each until someone wins, no matter who is in the lead. it took some getting used to remembering when i was supposed to be serving when i'm used to things adding up to multiples of 5 instead of an even number. and i was beaten every game i played, and i was playing another foreigner! i haven't even played a chinese person yet. we shall see. i can only get better!
i've been missing friends who know me well a lot lately...
Wow, you're going to be incredibly good at ping pong soon enough. I still can't even get the ball to hit the table most of the time.
ReplyDeleteI be the letters have cool stamps and stuff on them. I should write you a letter so that I can get one back from you.
I just got your letter the other day. Yay! It was so good to hear from you. Look out for a reply in the next week or so. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to hear that you're doing well and getting acclimated to a different culture. Thinking of you often. Miss you!
