bakery

there is a bakery that many of us like to go to to buy our bread. it is conveniently near our house, so much easier to go to than a big grocery store, especially if all we need is some bread. they sell some great somewhat whole wheat bread. "somewhat" is good enough for us since most bread you can buy in grocery stores resembles wonderbread. and this bread tastes like homemade, which is pretty awesome. they also sell a wide variety of other fun things, which i thought i'd share.

here's part of a ham bread thing that i got for dinner a few times:
the top is sort of onions-and-cheese-ish...something like that. supposedly the bread is black because it has octopus ink in it. at least that's what my friend who speaks chinese said that the sign said. it just tastes like bread though.

i haven't bought this one yet, but someday i want to:
i love the name! and it looks really really good. actually, i found out that's not really its name. the name tags were switched the day i took the picture. that name belongs to the thing next to it. but whatever, because this is the one i want to buy someday, and that is my favorite name. the price is more than it actually says though, which is why i haven't bought it yet. someday when i feel like splurging. i think its real name is chocolate mousse something, but i prefer "through loving sea."

this may be the best donut i've had here.
it's the only real donut this bakery sells, but it's so good! i usually have to refrain from buying this one.

this one i do not refrain from buying.
in fact, sometimes all buy all the available ones they have. it's bread filled with sweet red bean paste. very good! i like to bring these to work for a mid-morning snack.

and last but not least, these innocent looking little rolls.
i don't buy them very often because they are kind of expensive, and kind of small, and there isn't much to them. they are very tasty though, and they are awesome, because they are called dinosaur eggs!
doesn't it just look like a dinosaur could crawl out of there? when you bite into it, this is what it looks like. it's hollow. like a dinosaur should have been there, but it's not. which is why they aren't worth as much as they cost (because they are hollow, not because there is no dinosaur).

now that i've already bought them once, sometimes i still look at them and think about buying them, but i haven't....because really, there is nothing inside! but doesn't it look so cool!!
