i have two weeks of vacation, i'm flying to romania tomorrow, and i'm exhausted. thankfully i get to sleep in tomorrow because my flight isn't until 11 PM. but i have to take a taxi to the bus station (20 minutes), a bus to the airport (3 hours), wait 5 hours for my flight, fly 12 hours to istanbul, wait 6 hours in the airport, take a two hour flight to budapest, spend a day in budapest (yay!), and then take a 6 hour van ride to romania, and then do the same thing on the way back (except for the day in budapest). so yes, i'm thankful i get to sleep as much as i want tonight, and who knows, maybe i'll even sleep on the airplane!
so i'm physically exhausted, but also emotionally. it was necessary to say good-bye to 4 different people this week, 2 quite unexpectedly, 1 who was very very sick who we've been taking care of for the past two weeks, and 1 i didn't really get to say good-bye to either. saying good-bye in general is difficult for me, saying good-bye unexpectedly is worse, and not saying good-bye properly or at all is even worse. it's been an especially crazy past two weeks, not to mention the last couple months.
i need a vacation. and i'm so thankful for good friends here.
on my vacation i hope there will be snow, settlers, rest, and fun things to see. and i know there will be good friends. and it's kind of funny, but i'm looking forward to leaving so that i can be glad to come back.
merry christmas!
Merry Christmas and I hope you get some deep physical and emotional rest in!
