i am one of those people

i am now one of those people who flies around china to go to meetings, sits in a conference room with windows on multiple walls, seeing skyscrapers out the window shrouded in bleak smog, and cranes working to build more skyscrapers. i had this image in my mind of me in some futuristic movie where important people sit in drab grey cities in skyscrapers with activity going on outside the windows (people zooming by in shuttles?) and discuss the fate of the city. or me as one of those foreigners in books who travels around china for business and meets with important people. it's not really like any of that... except just a little. except for the skyscrapers and the contrast between lack of color outside and colorful scarves and sweaters inside and the activity outside the windows (cranes) and china and discussing the fate (of math curriculum).
