statues

statues are to be found in many different places in china. we have amused ourselves in the months we've been here by taking pictures with them. the first opportunity came when we visited a nearby city and decided we needed to take a walk in the park instead of just looking at all the stores everyone else was looking at. this was back in september. a musical statue.

then there was a statue playing a game in the same park. this may be my personal favorite.

in another park, we have more of an old fashioned statue. this one required a change of hairstyle in order to pose with him.

in shanghai at the beginning of october, we anticipated the world expo.

at another park, a rider on a dragon points into the distance.

don't know what's up the this statue, but we took our picture with him anyway.

another game playing statue, this time with an opponent. this time i had to interfere in their game, kindly of course.

i forgot to look off into the distance and contemplate the universe with this lady.

do mannequins count as statues? c tried to introduce herself.
i just tried to fit right in.
c knew better.

there are no words. this one took several attempts to get right. =)

with the immovable turtle (we tried).

the lady of the lake and...a baby...with roses.

getting ready for a phone call!
phone calls with c are always interesting...

ok, so maybe this is my personal favorite. us as dragons.
really, the photo opportunities with statues seem endless. stay tune for more in the future.

  2. I think my favorite is either the lion/dragon statue, or you and your friend pretending to be dragons. :) so much fun!
