so in college there was this game on addictinggames.com that i played sometimes called motherload. actually, i probably didn't play it over a long period of time. just constantly until i got close to beating it. i got to the very end of the game and then died without quite beating it. i'd been trying for so long that i gave up. so recently, i decided to try again.
in this game, you are dropped off on "mars."
your mission is to dig for minerals.
you make money from these, each kind is worth a different amount, and the deeper you go, the more expensive ones there are. as you go, you upgrade your digging machine to withstand deeper levels underground, and so that you can dig more efficiently. this is a terrible game for me, because it's simple enough, but there is always a way to improve, and it was always possible to make things a bit better so that i would be a bit closer to finding out something new further down. terrible.but FINALLY, i got to the end of the game, and i had enough resources to finish, and i did. yay!
spoiler warning: do not read further if you have any desire to figure out what happens in this game for yourself. i won't give it all away, but it does spoil some things.
when i got to the end, it said this.
(yes, apparently there is a satan on mars.) i thought, yay, i finished!! but then i read the part that said, "you've slaughtered satan 1 times." that bad grammar clearly indicates that it's possible to slaughter "satan" more than 1 times. grrrr. why??? and what happens if i slaughter satan a second time? something different?when i entered the game again, i saw this in my inventory:
everything starts from the beginning again....except the one thing i retain from all that work last time is: x1 Satan's Head. what does 1 satan's head do for me? can i use it for something? if i "beat" the game again, will the result be the same, or will it be different? is it beneficial somehow to have more than one satan's head?i couldn't resist saving the game. after i saved it, i tried to make it impossible for me to play it again. i thought it couldn't really be saved if i turned my computer off, because it's just a stupid flash game.
no, it's still saved. i tried resisting playing it again. it didn't work. i'm on vacation. i have things i have to do, but i'm really really on vacation. i'm even more on vacation than i was at christmas. i could sit at home everyday and do absolutely nothing if i wanted to (except for the homework for the online class i'm taking, but that doesn't take all day). arrrgh.
i definitely dub this the most addicting game EVER. even when you "win" you haven't really won yet. they tempt me just enough. just enough that i have to see what happens. but if someone just told me what does happen, i'd be kind of upset. (how does one make an angry face?)
