kindle!

my kindle was waiting for me when i got to the US! pretty exciting. =)

i love its size and how easy it is to hold and that there are buttons on both sides and that the buttons aren't noisy.

because i could, i downloaded about 70 free books. this confirms for myself that the kindle has already paid for itself both in terms of books that i maybe would have bought that would have all together cost way more than the kindle cost, not to mention how many pounds those 70 books would take up in the precious pounds i'm allowed when flying overseas. (this picture is in the middle of when i was downloading like a banshee (that's for ruthie...if she reads this...).)

i can also put any pdf files on the kindle that i want to, including michael's thesis, which i read on the kindle instead of on the computer, and felt pretty cool.

and the cover makes me happy.

i also bought scrabble for the kindle, because my grandma can't sit at the table and play games, so i thought it would be easier for her to play on the kindle. we haven't played it yet... but i've played it a lot. haha... apparently i like scrabble a lot more than i thought i did. or it's better when you don't have to wait for someone else to decide what to do (when playing with a computer). also i'm getting fairly good at beating the computer...haha.

it's a little funny that the only thing i've actually bought to put on the kindle so far is scrabble, not any actual books. but don't worry, there are a few i will buy before i go back to china.
