snow day!!

yesterday there was snow. there was a giant snowball fight, among other things. then in the afternoon it almost all melted and it was sad. there was hopes of a snow day.

in the morning, i walked out of the apartment building and it was still just getting light and there was snow all over the ground again, even more than the day before! i love how snow falls silently, in the dark, and in the morning the world is changed.

then i got to work this morning only to get the call once i got there that we didn't have to come because of the snow! this is a city that rarely gets snow, so now that there is a bunch of dirty slush in the streets, people don't know what to do! people walk when it is snowing with umbrellas, still drive scooters through the slush with their legs dangling down, barely moving. also, one of the guards in my apartment complex was knocking snow off the leaves of trees with a long stick. either he thought it was fun to do that, or for some reason he thought it was better for there not to be snow on the tree leaves? there were also people shoveling little paths from the doorways of apartment buildings out to the main roads through the apartment complex. through 3 inches of snow. or less. =)

AND today is a snow day. no work! so i went home, got to spend the day with friends relaxing and working on stuff. i was given extra time to work on my thesis just when i was starting to feel really overwhelmed about it. and we made chocolate chip pancakes. and now people are coming soon to play settlers. normally i would be maybe leaving work in about an hour, but i have done all these other things today instead. haHA. it is a good day.
