then c and i decided we should also order ice cream since we came with a coupon anyway. so we ordered a banana split. the other ice cream options on the menu consisted of tri-colored ice cream, hawaiian ice cream...and those are the only ones i can remember because we didn't know what the others were (we didn't know what those two were either). we couldn't tell from the name what they were, and there was only a picture of one of them and we didn't know which one it was. so we thought banana split would be a safe one. i was hoping for some chocolate. well, it was definitely a banana. and the banana was split right down the center, longways, and there were two scoops of ice cream in between. on either side were chocolate-ish wafers, and there was a vanilla-ish wafer on the top. there was chocolate sauce un-generously drizzled over the top. underneath, there were cubes of watermelon. and the two scoops of ice cream--one was pink and one was purple. the pink one was strawberry. i hoped briefly that the purple one was grape, but it was taro. taro is a purple sweet potato. it was all very tasty. i actually like taro very much. we have it at work lunches sometimes, and it looks pretty much like this:
all this to say, if you think you're going to get something particular that you had in mind, you probably won't. expect an adventure instead!
I LOVE taro ice cream!
ReplyDeleteone of my favorite flavors at yogurtland is taro! :)
ReplyDeleteTaro ice cream? Interesting. I would have never thought of it. I like taro chips, so it'd be neat to try the ice cream. But on a banana split?
